Japantown Business Association is helping raise funds for the tiny fishing village of Hisanohama (Iwaki-Hisanohama, Fukushima, Japan) Last year they lost their fishing boats but worked together to create a fireworks festival (hanabi taikai) to help mourn and help revive the energy of local villages who had suffered the same fate.
This year, one year later, they are still rebuilding. The long slow process is trying and volunteers are working to create another Fireworks Festival! to see what happened last year and for a more detailed explanation and photos of Hisanohama and the Fireworks event last year, please go to: www.hisanohama.wordpress.com
